FAQs

What is Canterbury Culture?

Canterbury Culture is an arts platform designed to unearth the secret or hidden aspects of this city that only a local might know. It celebrates the art and culture produced by its inhabitants, but also the weird and the wonderful places and experiences that Canterbury has on offer.

How do I submit an article for consideration?

Have you seen an exhibition recently that you fell in love with, or been to a been to a gig that you’re itching to tell someone about? We’re looking for writers and photographers to unearth Canterbury’s best-kept secrets, whether that’s in the form of an opinion, a series of photos, or an interview with a local artist.

Please submit all articles to alice@canterburyculture.org in the form of a doc. or pages. document.
Articles can be from 450-800 words.

What type, and size, of image files should I be submitting for use on the website?

Images should be jpg. images. Preferable dimensions:

  • Landscape – 1,024 x 512
  • Portrait – 800 x 1,200

Can I request to be featured in an article/Top Picks?

If you have an event that makes you excited to be in this city, we would love to hear more about it. Perhaps it’s a new exhibition, or an activist project carried out by students, or a new emerging festival or performance.

We want Canterbury Culture to showcase something a little bit quirky and different, rather than the mainstream events. We want to celebrate the incredible projects and performances that Canterbury has to offer – so if you could see exactly the same thing in London, chances are we won’t feature it in the Top Picks.
